Under this legislation, HMRC can disclose the names of scheme promoters, provide details of how these schemes are promoted, and list the schemes they support.
This enables HMRC to warn current and potential users about the risks of these schemes as early as possible and assist those already involved in exiting such arrangements.
The latest update to the list of tax avoidance schemes was published on 31 July 2025 with new additions to the 'Current list of named tax avoidance schemes, promoters, enablers, and suppliers.' HMRC also maintains a list of tax avoidance schemes subject to a stop notice. HMRC will continue to update this list regularly with information on other schemes and their promoters.
It’s important to note that not all schemes are listed, and the absence of a scheme from HMRC’s list does not imply that it is effective or endorsed by HMRC.
