The Helen Straker Charity Ball

On Saturday 12 October, we enjoyed a night out in the wonderful City of Bath supporting The Helen Straker Charity Ball. 

We've been supporting the Helen Straker Charity for many years, and have attended their Charity Ball before. This year was a lot of fun, with a great deal of money raised for this good cause. It was also a fantastic opportunity for some of our staff in different offices to get together and enjoy a night out, with some epic dance moves displayed!

We also attended the charity's Ladies Race Day in June, Golf Day in July, and are looking forward to the Tractor Boys get together in December. 

What does The Helen Straker Charity do?

Helen was an inspirational lady who for 13 years battled her way through various forms and stages of cancer before passing in September 2013.

During these years Helen set about helping people suffering similar illness without thought for her own situation and Helen was determined to raise funds for RUH Forever Friends Appeal and Dorothy House Hospice Care and it was with these two charities in mind that The Helen Straker Charity was formed in her memory.

From the outset The Helen Straker Charity has followed Helen's wishes and raised funds which in turn have been shared between the two charities favoured by Helen. More causes in the future will also benefit from the support of The Helen Straker Charity.
