History of the 16 Days of Action Against Domestic Violence

The 16 Days of Action Against Domestic Abuse campaign was initiated in 1991 by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership. Since then, it has grown into a global movement involving thousands of organizations and individuals from around the world who are committed to addressing domestic violence and gender-based abuse.

Each year, the campaign focuses on a specific theme or issue related to domestic abuse, shedding light on various aspects of this pervasive problem and advocating for change.
